How TradesFix-arranged services work.
These website terms explain the customer journey and the role TradesFix plays when arranging property services. The precise scope, price and appointment details for a job are confirmed through the relevant booking, quote or job record.
TradesFix's role
TradesFix provides a local booking, administration, payment and customer-support service. Where an independent service provider carries out the work, that provider is the supplier of the trade/service work and TradesFix acts as agent/intermediary in arranging and administering the service. This lets customers deal with one local TradesFix contact while preserving the correct legal relationship with the independent business carrying out the work.
Who carries out the work
Work may be carried out by TradesFix's directly arranged workforce or by an approved independent provider, depending on the service and availability. Where an independent provider is allocated, the supplier’s full legal identity and business address will be given in the quote/confirmation before you become contractually bound. A booking request alone is not a confirmed trade-service contract. Providers are required to work within their approved services and relevant competence, qualification and compliance requirements.
Partner installations and planned works
Some larger installations and planned works — including certain kitchen, bathroom, boiler/heating or other installation enquiries — may be introduced or referred to an approved TradesFix partner. Where we tell you that a job is a partner installation, the partner deals with you directly and is responsible for its survey, specification, quotation, customer contract, installation, deposit and balance payments, warranties, aftercare and installation-related complaints. TradesFix's role for that work is to introduce/refer the opportunity and, where applicable, provide lead administration and status support. The partner's own customer terms will apply to the installation contract. TradesFix does not become the installer merely because the enquiry originated through TradesFix.
Quotes, prices and changes
Online prices apply only where the service is expressly offered for online booking. Other work may be submitted for TradesFix to arrange or quote. Any chargeable variation for a TradesFix-arranged service should be approved through TradesFix before additional work proceeds, except where immediate safety action is reasonably required. For a partner installation, quotation changes and installation variations are agreed directly with the partner under that partner's customer contract.
Membership and discounts
Where an active TradesFix membership or account discount applies to the relevant property and service, the eligible discount is applied through the TradesFix pricing/invoicing process. Eligibility, limits and included benefits depend on the applicable membership terms and the property to which the membership is attached. A TradesFix membership or discount does not automatically apply to a separately contracted partner installation unless expressly stated.
VAT-inclusive fixed prices
Agreed customer prices include any applicable VAT. The agreed gross price does not increase merely because the supplier is VAT registered. A non-VAT-registered supplier does not charge VAT; this is not the same as a zero-rated supply. Where VAT applies, the supplier’s VAT number and the appropriate VAT breakdown appear on its invoice.
Payments and documents
For TradesFix-arranged services, customer payments may be collected and administered by TradesFix through its approved payment providers and customer-facing quotes, invoices, receipts and service records may be produced by TradesFix. Where an independent provider supplies the work, this administrative role does not by itself make TradesFix the principal supplier of that provider's trade service. For a partner installation contracted directly with a partner, the partner normally collects its own customer deposit and installation payments and issues the relevant installation quotation/invoice documentation.
For provider-supplied work, TradesFix may issue documents as the named supplier’s authorised agent. Your invoice identifies that supplier separately from TradesFix, your local administration and support contact. A deposit can require invoicing before completion; holding a provider payout does not defer any VAT tax point. Final invoices distinguish previously invoiced deposits from the remaining amount, and corrections use linked credit notes. A credit note is not itself a cash refund.
Cancellation information for consumer distance bookings
For service-only distance contracts, consumers normally have 14 days from the day after the contract is made to cancel. Starting within that period requires your express request. Where the law permits, you may owe a proportionate amount for work supplied at your express request before cancellation. Loss of the cancellation right on full performance requires the legally required request and acknowledgement. Urgent repairs specifically requested by you have a limited exception; unrelated additional work is not automatically covered. Supply-and-install contracts and other exceptions require their own applicable cancellation information in the quote/confirmation.
To cancel, send a clear statement identifying your booking to help@tradesfix24.uk. You may use: “I/We give notice that I/We cancel the contract for [service], ordered on [date], customer name [name], address [address], date [date].” If sending a paper cancellation, sign it. The booking confirmation will identify the contracting supplier and the appropriate postal/complaints address. These website words do not replace the specific pre-contract information and confirmation required for your booking.
Gas and regulated work
Gas work arranged through TradesFix is carried out by appropriately qualified Gas Safe registered engineers. A partner carrying out regulated installation work is responsible for ensuring the people it supplies hold the qualifications, registrations and competence required for that work.
Cancellations, complaints and refunds
Cancellation, refund and remedial arrangements may depend on the service, booking stage, work already carried out, materials committed and applicable consumer law. For TradesFix-arranged services, please contact TradesFix first so we can coordinate the appropriate response where relevant. For a partner installation contracted directly with a partner, contractual cancellation, deposit/refund, installation and remedial issues are primarily dealt with by that partner under its customer contract and applicable consumer law.
Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms removes or restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK consumer law. These terms are intended to sit alongside the specific booking, quote, invoice and service information supplied for each job and, for partner installations, the partner's own customer contract and terms.
